Metagaming and Powergaming

Metagaming

Metagaming is the act of using information your character could not realistically know to influence in-game actions.

This includes, but is not limited to: Watching livestreams to gain in-character knowledge, Listening to private Discord calls or reading Discord chats to track or follow players, Using OOC knowledge to your character’s advantage in any way

Participating in OOC chats or streams discussing current RP while in-county is not allowed under any circumstance.

Powergaming

Powergaming is when a player tries to force actions, control outcomes, or make their character unrealistically powerful at the expense of others’ roleplay.

This includes: Forcing outcomes in scenes without giving others a chance to respond, Not allowing room for failure, consequences, or opposition, Attempting to “win” every scenario rather than fostering collaborative storytelling.

Consequences

Both metagaming and powergaming are considered serious violations of server rules. Offenders may face disciplinary action.
